Safety protocols

We are extremely excited about resuming gatherings! However, due to the nation wide pandemic, we want to do so carefully and wisely. With that said, below are guidelines that we would like all members and visitors to practice to insure safe indoor gatherings.

  • We strongly encourage everyone to wear masks. Our preachers and worship leaders will not be able to while using microphones on Sundays, but we hope to minimize the number of people without masks as much as possible. If people need one, we will have some available.
  • We encourage everyone, including children, to practice social distancing measures so that all non-household members remain 6 ft apart. Please stagger yourselves in the pews when we meet
  • Thorough disinfecting will be done to the building after each gathering. There will also be hand sanitizer stationed at each entrance to the church building.
  • There will be no children's ministry. Parents can take children into the children's ministry area, but we ask that no one play with the community toys. We are providing resources to help parents keep children engaged during the sermons.
  • There will be no food or drink provided. We also will not have the Lord's Supper initially.
  • Once the meeting is over, people are not required to leave. However, we encourage everyone to move conversations outdoors.
  • If you or anyone in your family experiences COVID-related symptoms, please do not attend service for 2 weeks. Know that free viral testing is also available to the public every day from 8am-4pm at Market Place Mall, and it is encouraged that you get tested if you have symptoms. We will also resume posting sermon audio on the Sermons page of the website if you are not able to attend.

We really appreciate your cooperation in adhering to these guidelines. If you are visiting, please feel free to continue browsing the website to find out more about Redeemer Church! Below is more information pertaining to our regular Sunday gatherings. Thank you!

When you arrive

At the front door on Sunday morning, there should be some friendly people (we call them "greeters") to say hello, answer any questions you have, and direct you to our gathering area.  Folks will say hello and are open to conversation, but we'll try to be sensitive not to overwhelm you.  If you have kids, they are welcome to sit with you for all or part of the service.  If you would prefer to register your young children for class during the service, the greeters will show you where to go.  (Keep reading for more on children’s classes at Redeemer.)

Come As You Are Attitude

You'll notice that everyone is dressed comfortably, wearing anything from "office casual" to jeans and sneakers.  We are not concerned about what you wear but will simply be glad that you have come.  So just be yourself.  We also want to offer a place where you can get your questions answered.  If you are doubting or don't believe, you are welcome here.  We would love to have the opportunity to dialogue with you in hope to lead you to biblical answers for your concerns.

Service

A worship gathering is an opportunity to ascribe (acknowledge) worth to God.  It can and should be both celebratory and, at times, solemn.   We know that people have different musical preferences, but real worship transcends musical genres.  That is why our music is blended, contemporary in feel, led by anything from a single guy and a guitar to a band.

In our worship gatherings we worship and praise God, we teach from the Bible, we pray, and we take the Lord's Supper together (monthly).   We may include times of silent reflection, corporate reading of creeds or confessions, and reciting of Scripture.  All our gatherings are modern but biblical in nature. You will see people singing loudly or quietly assuming an attitude of prayer, clapping and raising their hands or simply standing reverently. We encourage all genuine expressions of biblical worship during our services. Our goal in corporate worship is to realize and experience the presence of God and give thanks for who He is and what He has done.

Biblical, Relevant Sermons

The Bible is God’s true and authoritative Word given to us so that we might love and obey Him. We learn about God, ourselves, and life through it. All of it is immensely valuable to us, and therefore, we take the preaching of the Bible very seriously. Within Redeemer, we seek to preach sermons that are both biblical and relevant, meaning that we take what the Bible is saying in any given passage, and we connect it to our lives. This is known as expositional preaching. God wants to be involved in our everyday lives, and it is through His Word and the preaching of it that He enters them. We hope that our sermons are a helpful means for you to learn about and draw nearer to God.

For the Kids

We care about your kids.  Our desire is to see them thrive in Christ!  As was mentioned above, children of all ages are welcome in the worship service. In order to support parents and help children learn and grow, we offer a couple of classes on Sunday mornings.

Redeemer Tots

Redeemer Tots is a class offered for children ages 0-2 and is available for the duration of the service. During Tots, children are able to play, learn about Jesus and the Gospel, and enjoy a small snack. Our loving volunteers use the Children Desiring God Curriculum and will practice memory verses and catechism questions with the Tots during the service.  The Redeemer Tots classroom is located on the north side of the first floor of the Education Wing.

Redeemer Kids

Older children are invited to participate in the Redeemer Sprouts (ages 3-4) and Kids (ages 5-6) classes, which take place during the sermon. Your kids will worship together with your family and the congregation though singing.  At the beginning of the sermon, they will be directed to the Sprouts or Kids classrooms by the teachers.

The Redeemer Sprouts use the Children Desiring God: A Sure Foundation curriculum, where they will be reminded of simple truths of God. They will also review scripture memory verses and catechism questions. The Redeemer Sprouts classroom is located on the south side of the first floor of the Education Wing.

Using The Gospel Story for Kids curriculum, Redeemer Kids teachers will help the Bible come alive in the hearts of your children. They will also review scripture memory verses and catechism questions. The Redeemer Kids classroom is located on the south side of the second floor of the Education Wing. The staircase is located directly south of the Redeemer Sprouts room.

Children may be signed out of their classes immediately following the service.
